I'm busy busy in San Francisco, so I've only got time for a quicky today. This one is about the dreaded experience of passing through airport security. People: Do not put your laptop through the scanner belt until the TSA person waves you through the walk-thru scanner. Keep your eye on the laptop as it comes out the other side. And pick it up immediately as it emerges.
This – along with not saying "Hi Jack!" – is about the best advice I can give you related to the generally hellish airport security system. A dear friend of mine – who shall remain nameless – got summoned by security for a bag check at Las Vegas McCarran last week. He momentarily forgot about his laptop, and when he remembered a few seconds later, it was gone.
